Charles S. Harris, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, transcribed these three Civil War diaries and donated the transcriptions and photocopies to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Special Collections.

Scope and Contents note

The Charles S. Harris Collection consists of transcriptions and photocopies of three Civil War diaries written by Union soldiers. The diaries include: Diary of Philip R. Ward, of the 98th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (1863-1864), Diary of Frederick N. Kollock, of the 29th Pennsylvania Infantry (1864), and the Diary of Jacob Cohn, of the 4th Pennsylvania Infantry (1862).
