Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist and a leading figure in the Pop Art movement. He first worked as a commercial illustrator, and later became internationally famous for his paintings, as an avant-garde filmmaker, as a record producer, author, and public figure. He was also known for his association with wildly diverse social circles that included bohemian street people, distinguished intellectuals, Hollywood celebrities, and wealthy aristocrats.

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts donated the Andy Warhol photographs collection to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on 2008 April 11.
